Dachshund Training and Behaviour.
There may be a time during your puppy's life where you require support with training your puppy and their behaviour. We are here to help...
Training and Behavioural Support.
How do we determine whether a dog has a training requirement or a behaviour problem?
If you are looking to teach your dog something new, then this is training. If your dog struggles in some situations and shows signs or aggressive behaviour, anxiety, fear, compulsive behaviour, struggles to be alone or is under veterinary treatment for any of the above then this is behaviour.
We understand that when we start our journey with our dogs, whether this is with a puppy or an older dog that it can be overwhelming, especially as there is lots of conflicting advice on the internet and can cause us to feel stressed and not knowing what to do next. Training is the foundation of everything for our dogs because this teaches them basic life skills, how to interact with other dogs and helps to build confidence. It also assists us in building deeper bonds with our dogs whilst providing them with the mental stimulation they need to thrive.
When looking at behaviour it is important to take a holistic approach and look at the whole picture which really helps to uncover why the behaviour is occurring. Behind every behaviour that your dog displays, is an emotion which we need to understand and work on changing because if we can change how the dog feels then we can change the behaviour, and this works in conjunction with training.
The methods used for any training within the behaviour modification process are based on scientific study and learning theory. We will only use reward-based training within any behaviour modification or training plans/sessions.
